A ministry of the Arabic Chruch of Sacramento, the Arab American Learning Center (AALC) operates several ongoing services: their “Refugee Support Services” helps immigrants make phone calls, sort mail, fill out applications, or make appointments; the After School Program provides homework help and activities for students grades 1-12; the Open Hands Ministry coordinates donations and home item distributions; the Al Nour Library provides a community reading space and educational materials; and the Athletic Ministry hosts regular sports gatherings that combine physical activity with scriptural study. The AALC also has family celebration events for Back to School and major holidays with giveaways and activities for the community.
