Agency Overview

Bay Area Resource for Newcomers (BRFN) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established to support and empower refugees, immigrants, asylees, and asylum-seekers of all backgrounds in the East Bay and wider San Francisco Bay Area. BRFN provides and advocates for culturally and linguistically appropriate social support services, such as language training, social welfare, education, physical and mental healthcare, employment, housing, and cultural bridging and preservation. BRFN works in collaboration and partnership with other community organizations, local counties and the state of California to help clients achieve self-sufficiency and civic engagement in the community. Our highly-trained, compassionate, and trauma-informed staff come from lived experience and speak the languages of Afghan and Eritrean communities we mainly serve.
