Agency Overview
JFCS offers extensive expertise resettling refugees who have fled violent and dire circumstances. Our resettlement team includes Arabic, Dari, Farsi, Pashto, Russian, Spanish, and Ukrainian speakers.
Refugee services include comprehensive case management for newcomer families, Refugees, Asylees, Humanitarian Parolees, SIVs, and other ORR-eligible immigrants who arrived in the US less than 5 years ago, for a minimum of 3-6 months.
Services include but are not limited to:
- In-depth and ongoing cultural orientation
- Accessing medical and mental health services
- Enrolling clients in ESL classes
- Enrolling children in schools
- Linking clients with appropriate local resources
- Matching clients with volunteers and tutors
- Managing crises or family upheaval
- Social integration through gatherings and celebrations
Eligibility & Referral
JFCS serves all ORR-eligible clients: Refugees, Asylees, SIVs, Humanitarian Parolees, and certain asylum seekers. We serve clients in LA, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties.
Both comprehensive, and intensive case management services, as well as short-term case management are available through our Preferred Communities programs.
Financial assistance is available to eligible individuals and families. Financial assistance for mental health is available through our ANSP and UNSP programs to Afghans and Ukrainians.
