Nowruz media is a community-driven digital media platform dedicated to serving Afghan immigrants and Farsi-Speaking in California and beyond. It's established to fill the information gap for the Afghan newcommers and underrepresented immigrants groups offering multilangual, cultturallly relevant, and community-centered journalis.
The Nowruz media focus on:
1- Local and Community News- Covering stories, issues affecting Afghan immigrants community and thier new home.
2-Practical Information and Resource hub- Providing guides on immigrantion, healthcare, housing, education and scholarship, social servies, legal information, reettlement, civic angegment, and family supports.
3-Community Engegement-Building bridges between Afghan and Farsi-Speaking immigrants and local institution, wider society through community listening session,s focus groups and and Community hub initiatives on WhatsSApp.
4-Empowerment and Storytelling-Training community reporters, sucess storties, implifying voices.
Eligibility & Referral
Nowruz Media’s services and resources are open to all Afghan and Farsi-Speaking immigrants, refugees, and community members in California and across the United States, regardless of immigration status, age, or gender. The platform is designed to support newcomers as well as long-established residents who seek news, information, and opportunities for civic engagement.
Community members may self-refer by connecting with Nowruz Media through its website, WhatsApp Community Hub, or social media platforms. In addition, referrals are welcome from resettlement agencies, community organizations, service providers, and educational institutions that work with Afghan and immigrant populations.
By partnering with local organizations and leaders, Nowruz Media ensures that those most in need of timely, relevant information can easily access its news, resources, and community programs.
